The weekend, two time winner and six time grammy award winning nominee, alternative R&B artist has come out with a new single title ‘Starboy’.

The music video begins as a narrative of The Weeknd getting strangled to death at the dinning table in a modern, in a luxury California home. He remerges, alive and kicking a metaphor of leaving behind the old artist and reinventing himself once again after winning hollywood fame. The weekend has debuted a new look in the video, his famed pineapple shaped dread locks are gone and replaced with a clean cut.

Personally as a fan of The Weeknd since 2013 before he signed to any record label, its been amazing to watch his progression in the music industry. This new look is refreshing especially the fact that he collaborated with Daft Punk for this single speaks volumes. I look forward to The Weekends alternative R&B style to mix with electronic, synthesized, funky tunes. The Weeknd has recently signed to Republic Records. which proved to be a good deal, in contrast to the deal he was going to sign with Drake through Warner Bros.  which would have had him going in more of a rap and R&B direction instead of a Funky electronic direction.
